Nancy Trier-Metzger
Nancy is the founder of Camp Allegro Wichita and served as the first Executive Director of Camp Allegro Wichita. She is currently treasurer for the Board of Directors.

Nancy received her BA in music history and German from Georgia State University. Her graduate studies include German, translation and linguistics at Georgia State University and also further studies in piano pedagogy and German at Wichita State University. She is currently pursuing graduate studies (MALS) at WSU, researching the lives and music of the composers who were interned at Theresienstadt concentration camp/ghetto in Czechoslovakia during the Holocaust.

Nancy teaches piano privately in her studio, Opus 111 Piano Studio, and has also taught German and lectured on the Holocaust at Northfield School of the Liberal Arts.

“I became involved with the camp several years ago, when I was asked to develop the keyboard division. I was named Co-director the following year. There is a great need for our camp in this community, and to keep it available to youth in Wichita and the surrounding areas, it was necessary to recreate Camp Allegro as a nonprofit organization. My own experiences at the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Michigan, (founded by Joe Maddy from Wellington, Kansas) had a lasting effect on my desire to study music, and I would like to create a similar experience for campers at Camp Allegro Wichita.”
