Andrea Brainard
Andrea Brainard teaches Kinderlab.She holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Kansas State University and Kodaly Level I Certification. She brings more than 16 years of experience teaching music to young children and delights in the process of discovery and exploration in the music classroom.
Andrea is an accomplished vocalist who sings with the Wichita Chamber Chorale. She also plays piano and has a special interest in children's literature, which she enjoys incorporating into the music classes she teaches.
“As Kinderlab teacher, I love to watch the delight in children's faces as they see and hear a bagpipe or string bass for the first time, discover how to crescendo and decrescendo with their singing voices, or make a rhythm on paper come to life as they play sticks and drums. The minds and hearts of children are open to the power and diversity that comes in the study and enjoyment of music. Camp Allegro is both nurturing and challenging for the kids who attend and the lessons learned at camp will serve them well in both music and life.”
